Help for the Bebop Chrome new-tab extension. Bebop is free: every level, every word and every picture.

Email jack@heygentic.com.au. For a wrong reading, meaning or sentence, include the word as it appears on the card; the address bar link of a card (?word=…) identifies it exactly.

Common questions

How do I choose levels?

Open a new tab, click the gear icon and turn on any mix of N5, N4, N3, N2, N1 and N1+. Every word in your mix comes up once before any word repeats.

How do I show readings or English?

Use the switches in Settings, or double-click the word or the page background to reveal them for the current card.

A card has no picture.

Words and sentences are included in the extension and work offline. Most pictures are downloaded a few cards ahead from art.bebopjapanese.com; if you were offline when a card came up, it shows without its picture. Once you are back online, the next cards have theirs.

How much space does Bebop use?

About 20 MB for the extension, plus about 9 MB of downloaded pictures for each mix of levels you use. Older pictures are deleted automatically.

Can I get Chrome's normal new tab back?

Turn Bebop off or remove it at chrome://extensions. Removing it deletes its settings and downloaded pictures.

What does Bebop collect?

Nothing. Your settings stay in your browser. See the privacy policy.
